Apprentice & Trainee Management Services Panel

The activities of the Building Management and Works (BMW) business unit of the Department of Finance include construction of State Government buildings such as hospitals, schools and police stations, management of major State construction projects, maintenance of Government buildings, and management of the Government's office portfolio.

As part of BMW’s commitment to the long-term sustainability of the State’s building and construction industry, BMW has implemented an Apprenticeship Management Program (AMP). The Program provides support for apprentices and trainees through service provision arrangements with Group Training Organisations (GTOs), using innovation and best practice to achieve high quality outcomes for Government contractors, apprentices and trainees. GTOs provide the Department with a mechanism for engaging apprentices and trainees.

BMW seeks to expand the AMP by establishing a Panel of GTOs to engage, indenture and manage building and construction apprentices and trainees to trade completion, by deploying them at agreed Government building and construction sites throughout the State. Panel members will focus on the attraction and retention of apprentices and trainees to the building and construction industry. This will be undertaken at the request of, and with support from, the AMP.
