Description

The Queensland Government has committed to delivering a three-tiered, scientific approach to crocodile management which places public safety as the highest priority. This commitment includes the use of private providers where appropriate.

The Queensland Crocodile Management Plan (QCMP) supports the Nature Conservation (Estuarine Crocodile) Conservation Plan 2018 (Qld) (the conservation plan), which is made under the Nature Conservation Act. Together these documents describe the strategic management framework to reduce risks to public safety and protect crocodiles in the wild.

The Queensland Government is seeking Proposals for the delivery of services to monitor and capture estuarine crocodiles from an area extending from the northern end of Trinity Inlet to the southern end of Ellis Beach, and westwards to Lake Placid, within the Cairns Regional Council local government area.
