Description
The Acquisition Services (AS) unit of the Department of Community Safety (DCS) is inviting offers for the provision of Veterinary Services at Darling Downs Correctional Centre (DDCC). The Centre runs a 500 head dairy herd of which some 220 head are in milk at any one time. The balance of the herd is made up of dry cows, mated heifers, young heifers and female calves and bulls. Currently all female calves are raised on farm as future replacement heifers to permit acceptable culling levels in the adult herd. It is expected that the successful offeror will provide veterinary services to support the health of the herd and support the breeding program of DDCC dairy farm.
