Description
SmartRider is a contactless smartcard which may be encoded with Transperth products to allow payment for fares on Transperth services, for drivers to sign on to their ticket machines, for Inspectors, etc. It is also used as the base platform for most school student ID cards (dual use), WA Seniors Cards, and one University's joint ID card.
SmartRider is currently hosted on two different ISO-14443 A, B and Mifare NXP Mifare products. The bulk of cards are the Mifare Classic 1k product ("SmartRider Cards") with the remainder Mifare Ultralite in "paper" disposable form ("24hr Cards"). The current card platform will be replaced with the Mifare DESFire EV2, and the Mifare Ultralite C for the disposable card.
