Description
The Department of Energy and Climate is seeking proposals for EN24003 - Development of a community-owned energy program in Queensland.
The Department of Energy and Climate invites proposals from qualified suppliers to support the development of a framework and engagement activities for a community-owned energy program, with a focus around Queensland’s major network transmission and associated renewable energy infrastructure in REZ regions.
The community-owned energy program aims to:
- enable community participation in the energy transformation
- facilitate sharing of financial benefits of large-scale renewables development with communities
- provide underserved groups like renters and apartment dwellers the opportunity to benefit from renewable energy initiatives
- deliver economic, social and environmental benefits
- increase local support for large-scale renewables projects
- enhance social licence for the energy transformation through community involvement.
