Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Women's Health Community Service in the South East Metropolitan Perth Region
Details
Description
Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS) is currently undertaking the procurement of a community based Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) WHC service in South East Metropolitan Perth. As the Weomen's Health Centre in South East Metropolitan Area is a CaLD service; the community outcomes, service level outcomes and service required will need to be addressed in a way that specifies their applicability to women from CaLD communities. Key service delivery locations include the City of Canning and surrounds. The Service Provider may choose to provide a service in one or more of these locations.
The WHC in South East Metropolitan area will be a service specific to women from CALD backgrounds, one of the vulnerable communities identified for Women’s Health issues following the Community Women’s Health Stakeholder Group project report, which developed key recommendations for future resource allocation of community-based women’s health service funding.
The service will be tailored to the specific needs of women in the selected area. Service Providers will have knowledge and capacity to respond flexibly to the needs of local clients and the community. The service will address these needs through the provision of targeted programs. These include, but are not limited to, information dissemination; health promotion activities; advocacy; counselling; clinical appointments; therapeutic groups; and crisis intervention. An Unplanned Pregnancy Counselling Program (UPCP) is not required, though may be appropriate due to lack of services in the area.
