Description

Lindsay River Bridge is a two-span structure located on Heemskirk Development Road (Norfolk Road) built in 1989. It comprised of a 10m timber log span and a 15.5m steel beam span, both supporting timber decking. On 6 October 2021, it was identified in a routine inspection that one of the timber beams has failed.

The purpose of this contract is to engage a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to undertake the rehabilitation works.

Rehabilitating this bridge will significantly reduce the risk of structural failure of the timber elements due to heavy vehicle overloading and flood loading. It will also provide compliant traffic barriers and address the condition issues that the Department have been managing with timber which has a short life span of 25-30 years.
