Description
The project objective is to replace the existing 60 year-old 9 m span Pratt Ave bridge over Dry Creek with a new 19.5 m span bridge with a nominal 100 year design life as documented.
The scope of work includes early works on nearby intersections to facilitate a detour for traffic including Metro Adelaide bus Route 229 and school buses before removal of vegetation from site and tree clearance, piling of abutments for the new bridge, demolition of the existing bridge, stone pitching, kerbing and pavements, excavation for and construction of stormwater drainage, new abutments, wing walls and rock protection on creek banks local to the bridge including construction of an underpass for the Dry Creek Trail, precasting and erection of Super Tee girders, casting of a new insitu deck, new kerb and gutter and road pavements, supply and installation of guard rails, new footpaths and provision of bus stops.
