Description

The Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA) is undertaking a feasibility investigation of Stage 1 of an expanded Transperth ferry service. As part of this process, greater cost accuracy is sought for the ferry landing and berthing infrastructure to better inform the business case. This engagement seeks to support the quantification of cost and delivery complexity to inform the overall assessment of feasibility by developing concept structural designs for new and augmented ferry landings, and an overnight ferry berthing facility. This scope of works seeks Structural Engineering assessments and preliminary design of the concept ferry landing and berthing marine structures. Further packages of the 2-stage scope of expanded ferry service delivery will be procured separately in the future as this may be some years away. The PTA seeks the provision of Services, including: Review of current concept architectural designs to advise on minimal-pile design & explore any opportunity to remove or rationalise pile numbers.Initial feasibility marine structure designs based on desktop-available information and the architectural concepts ? we will seek available information from DoT Marine in the areas of interest however this may be limited or non-existent. Feedback and commentary from the structural design will be issued back to the architect for a limited iterative design process.Advise other concept-level studies that might be performed to help inform or de-risk future design stages.Develop concept structural designs following receipt of geophysical information for the landing locations and updated architectural designs to achieve a cost estimate window of ±30%. (architectural work by others) There are 3 new ferry landings at Applecross, Canning Bridge and UWA/Crawley, as well as one existing landing at Elizabeth Quay to be augmented and the overnight berthing facility at Ellam St. The intent is to develop documentation to the degree required to inform high-level cost estimation to feed into a business case. Each item is expected to be completed within three weeks of commencement of the applicable item or as otherwise agreed. i.e. production of conceptual structural design will be completed within three weeks of receipt of geophysical information and updated architectural information. All work performed under this engagement will be considered confidential and market-sensitive until released in the public domain by the PTA.
