Timber Bridge Bank End Solution
Details
Description
Queensland Rail wishes to advise that the QRP-22-104 - Timber Bridge Bank End Solution has now been released to market.
OVERVIEW OF SERVICES
Queensland Rail has a requirement for a design & construct (D&C) solution for bank end replacement, via sheet piling, for three (3) timber bridges on the North Coast Line (NCL) Network that have defective bank ends:
- Hopes (Hopfs) Road Overbridge, Timber Road Overbridge, 995.140 km NCL (PRIORITY)
- Clarkson Creek Bridge, Timber Rail Bridge, 1491.060 km NCL
- Thozet Creek Bridge, Timber Rail Bridge, 4.340 km Yeppoon Branch Line.
Scope of Work Requirements
Queensland Rail requires the Contractor to complete the design and construct for the following:
- Hopes Road Overbridge south-western bank end (Bank End 1, Bruce Highway End) replacement
- Clarkson Creek Bridge northern bank end (Bank End 2) replacement
- Thozet Creek Bridge western bank end (Bank End 1) replacement
A sheet piling methodology is the preferred remediation solution. If the Contractor determines that a sheet piling solution is not viable, an alternative will be provided taking into account all of the below requirements, especially noting the need to reduce road traffic interruptions on Hopes Rd Overbridge, the Program of deliverables, and a high level of cost effectiveness.
