Provision of Vegetation Management Services South East Queensland

Queensland Rail operates an extensive rail network across Queensland, providing suburban and long-distance services across the state. As part of that railway operation, Queensland Rail has approximately 400km of corridor area within South East Queensland.

Vegetation management within the rail corridor has financial, social and environmental implications. Maintenance of vegetation needs to be done as economically as possible, without causing unnecessary environmental damage and without impacting on the rights and requirements of adjoining landholders and other interested and affected parties.

Vegetation management services are required within corridor area across South East Queensland. This includes the North Coast line between Brisbane and Tamaree and the Shorncliffe, Ferny Grove, Pinkenba, Kippa-Ring and Cleveland branch lines. It also includes the Gold Coast line to Varsity Lakes and the Ipswich line as far as Rosewood and the Springfield Branch line to Springfield Central. In addition to these locations are Acacia Ridge (Terminal) and Exhibition. Non-operational lines that form part of this scope of work include Thomas Street to Churchill, Tennyson line between Corinda and Yeerongpilly.
