Tunnel Boring Machine Advisor - Forrestfield-Airport Link

Forrestfield-Airport Link is a Western Australian State Government project to deliver a rail service to the eastern suburbs with stations at Airport West, Consolidated Airport and Forrestfield.In June 2015 the Request for Proposal (RFP) Phase commenced with documents available to the three Shortlisted Proponents. In November 2015 the submissions from the proponents will be received, followed by contract award in order to commence construction in 2016 with completion in 2020. The Public Transport Authority (PTA) requires a Tunnel Boring Machine Advisor to provide expertise to the Forrestfield-Airport Link project during the procurement and delivery phases of the project. The Tunnel Boring Machine Advisor is required to have strong experience with design, manufacture, operation and maintenance of Slurry, Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) and Dual mode Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs), involving extensive local and international experience in bored tunnelling projects, specifically in soft ground conditions such as the ground and groundwater conditions similar to the Perth Coastal Plain. Advice and activities conducted under this contract shall be under direction of the PTA Geotechnical and Tunnelling Manager. The Consultant will provide a combination of in-house support at the Forrestfield-Airport link project and site offices, visits to the TBM Manufacturing Facility outside Australia and external technical advice from their place of residence.
