Description

The Department of Agriculture and Food Western Australia (DAFWA) requires the provision of a ‘Commercial Off the Shelf’ (COTS) Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), including integration, implementation, data migration, ongoing support and maintenance services to deliver a single corporate LIMS used by the DAFWA Diagnostic and Laboratory Services (DDLS) division.

The solution provided must meet the Customer’s technical and business requirements as detailed in this document and be fully implemented and operational by 1 May 2016.

The DDLS provides a diagnostic laboratory service to the animal and plant agriculture industries of WA for disease surveillance, emergency response, disease control and research. An integral component of this service delivery is the use of a LIMS to manage sample accession, testing and reporting of laboratory results to clients. In addition, the LIMS is also a knowledge repository of disease investigations and is a key data source for DAFWA to fulfil state, national and international disease reporting obligations.
