Description
The Rivers and Water Supply Commission is constructing the Meander Dam in accordance with a 'Permit to Undertake Dam Works'. One of the requirements of the permit is to arrange for suitably qualified and experienced experts to undertake soil dispersivity assessment at the Huntsman Saddle, and ground water monitoring prior to reservoir filling in order to: 1. assess the potential erosion in the Huntsman Saddle area; and 2. monitor seepage loss from the dam storage area. A work program is to be developed to address the requirements listed at 1 and 2 above. Submissions are sought from appropriately experienced consultants to undertake the above work. The work under this consultancy must be completed prior to the commencement of the filling of the Meander Dam, expected about the end of July 2007.
