Residential Care Certification Assessments

Certification relates to the physical assessment of Commonwealth funded residential care services throughout Australia. A standard inspection instrument partially based on the Australian Building Code (BCA) is used for this purpose.

The proposed agreement for certification assessments and technical support will be based on a Deed of Standing Offer Arrangement.

Tenders are sought by an open tender process for two (2) elements; each will support the certification process:

Element 1:

The tenderer will be required to:

• undertake Certification Assessments of the physical standards of Commonwealth funded residential care services located in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote locations throughout Australia.

Element 2:

The tenderer may be required to:

•provide technical support on issues associated with the Building Code of Australia, Australian Standards and State, Territory and local government building regulations on an 'as required' basis;

•conduct an on-going revision of the Aged Care 1999 Certification Assessment Instrument, Certification Assessment Scoring Matrix, Certification Assessment Guidelines (Instrument); and

•attend and/or present at conferences, seminars and meetings as required by the department.

Tenders must include both elements 1 and 2. Tenders for a single element will not be considered.
