Description

The Department of Water, Land and Biodiversity Conservation requests submissions from suitably qualified consulting firms or individuals to conduct a study funded by the Murray Darling Basin Commission and the National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality.

The study will build on Stages 1-2 of the Regional Saline Water Disposal Strategy project which prioritised future salt interception requirements and made a preliminary assessment of disposal options between Morgan (South Australia) and Lock 10 (Victoria/New South Wales).Stage 3 will accurately assess the capacity to dispose of water generated by salt interception and irrigation drainage.Existing disposal basins, the options to expand the capacity of these basins and options for establishment of new basin sites within South Australia will be investigated.
