INDIVIDUAL ADVOCACY SERVICES

The Disability Services Commission conducting an open tender process for Individual Advocacy Services. Individual advocacy services focus on empowering and supporting people with disabilities to address their needs and/or choices in order to bring about positive changes in the quality of their everyday life.

A fixed budget totalling $2,000,000 per year will apply to the service agreement(s). Service providers will be asked to explain the range of individualised advocacy services and associated price per unit of that service, which will be on offer to the intended target group.

Individual advocacy services to be targeted on a non-diagnostic approach, delivered across target areas:

1. state-wide general disability advocacy
2. specialist disability advocacy for Aboriginal people
3. specialist disability advocacy for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and
4. specialist disability advocacy for people residing in rural and remote areas.

It is anticipated that one or more service providers will be appointed to deliver the required services. Respondents will be able to act individually or as part of a consortium and may provide a response in regard to one or more of the four target groups.
