Management Team Leadership Development

The Department of Mines and Petroleum’s Resources Safety Division (RSD) is the primary safety regulator for the mining, petroleum and geothermal and dangerous goods industries in Western Australia.
RSD administers the Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994, which promotes occupational safety and health for people involved in the exploration, mining, and extraction and processing of resources. Petroleum occupational health and safety is regulated under the State’s petroleum and geothermal energy statutes. RSD also administers the Dangerous Goods Safety Act 2004, which applies to the manufacture, storage, handling, transport and use of dangerous goods, including the operation of major hazard facilities in Western Australia, and manages the State’s explosive reserves.
RSD is seeking to commence a Management Team Leadership Development initiative involving the RSD Executive Management Committee (EMC), Managers and Team Leaders within all Branches (approximately 40 staff in total).
