Description
PROJECT DESCRIPTION In May 2022, The Commission engaged Place Score to utilise its National Benchmark dataset to deliver foundation research to support the wider diverse communities research project, with a focus on Liveability values, strengths, weakness and priorities across the Six Cities. As part of this project, the Commission engaged Place Score to deliver a pilot project to adapt its “Place Score” methodology to develop a ‘People Pulse’ framework to explore the concept of longitudinal monitoring of how of people experience and value place. This work formed part of the Commission’s research package to inform its review of the Six Cities Region Plan (GSRP) and City/District Plans to be undertaken over 2022-23. The Pilot project has now been completed with key insights and opportunities for further monitoring and measurement of key liveability outcomes identified. This proposed is to extend the People’s Pulse project to establish a platform for longitudinal measurement of people’s lived experience across the Six Cities Region. The longitudinal study will provide the GCC with medium to long term knowledge and understanding of the impact of liveability objectives, strategies and actions in the Region and City plans as well as an innovative approach to measuring and understanding people’s perceptions of liveability in their communities across the Six Cities region. PURPOSE The project involves the extension and expansion of a Six Cities 'People’s Pulse' to monitor community sentiment and connection to place and sense of belonging and social cohesion for the Six Cities Region planning. The data and insights from this project will identify implications for planning, inform new initiatives and programs and support the Commissions aspirations. PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORKS The Commission will engage with Place Score, a consultant firm who have developed the “Liveability Census” and “Place Score” initiatives to extend and further develop the Six Cities 'People Pulse' to monitor community sentiment and connection to place, sense of belonging and social cohesion for the Six Cities Region planning. Place Score will be engaged to deliver a longitudinal study of the values of local communities regarding place, and how the Six Cities are performing in regard to liveability. The project will involve refinement of the People’s pulse framework to reflect the Region and City plans’ objectives, data collection and analysis, Six Cities detailed reports and targeted LGA based reports.
