Description

Queensland Rail is sourcing one or two competent contractors to perform periodic engine overhaul services (i.e. W5/W6 Overhaul) for its Diesel Tilt Train (DTT) fleet. The contractors must be able to support Queensland Rail’s operational requirements for the overhaul of the engines and associated parts in a timely and consistently dependable manner.

These engines are highly specialised and require a contractor with access to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts and access to technical data from MTU Germany. A significant failure of the engines could jeopardise the ability of Queensland Rail to run scheduled passenger services. Therefore, the contractor is required to have direct experience in overhauling these engines and components in order to give Queensland Rail confidence of their abilities to deliver quality goods and services as required.
