Walking Track Construction and Upgrade Works on Mt Baldy Walking Track and Widow Maker Summit Trail in Herberton Range State Forest

QPWS is seeking quotations from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to undertake construction and upgrade of existing tracks on an hourly rate in the Herberton Range State Forest as follows:

• Upgrade trail surfaces by installing steps, improving drainage structures and hardening surfaces to improve safety and sustainability whilst maintaining a class 4 (AS 2156.1) walking track for the Mt Baldy Walking Track (approximately 2.3 kilometre).
• Undertake minor realignment and upgrade works to the Widow Maker Summit Trail (approximately 2 kilometre) to improve safety and sustainability whilst maintaining a class 4 (AS 2156.1) walking track.

Subject to QPWS option to spend less than the nominated sum and terminate works for any reason in its absolute discretion, the sucessful contractor must be able to deliver a total of $220 000 (ex GST) of contract works prior to 30th September 2015, including a minimum of $100 000 (ex GST) of contract works prior to 30^th June 2015, and may commence works at any time upon receipt of a purchase order. QPWS will endeavour to issue the purchase order to the successful contractor prior to 20^th April 2015.
