The comprehensive economic analysis of the value of the defence sector to the Tasmanian economy

Australian Defence Force (ADF) bases, facilities and activities; and Defence industry supply chain activities to provide a quantitative assessment of the direct economic contribution that the defence sector makes to the Tasmanian economy; to provide a qualitative assessment of the potential indirect economic contribution the defence sector to the Tasmanian economy; and to identify potential defence industry growth opportunities for Tasmania as identified by Tasmanian companies and organisations consulted in the Project. The purpose of this RFQ is to identify an experienced and suitably qualified consultant who best demonstrates their ability to deliver the Department’s requirements as set out in this RFQ. The successful Consultant must plan for and undertake data collection, research and expert analysis to deliver written reports to the Department, as set out below, detailing its comprehensive economic analysis of the value of the defence sector to the Tasmanian economy (“Project”). For the purposes of the Project, the ‘defence sector’ is defined as and includes: The analysis undertaken by the Consultant must address the following key project objectives (“Project Objectives”): to provide a quantitative assessment of the direct economic contribution that the defence sector makes to the Tasmanian economy; to provide a qualitative assessment of the potential indirect economic contribution the defence sector to the Tasmanian economy; and to identify potential defence industry growth opportunities for Tasmania as identified by Tasmanian companies and organisations consulted in the Project.
