South East Rail Network

The South Australian Government is seeking proposals for the conversion from broad gauge to standard gauge, re-opening of the South East Rail Network and its subsequent operation. Responses are sought from organisations or consortiums capable of providing all of the services, including rail gauge standardisation, rail infrastructure upgrading, rail operations, rail marketing and maintenance services to the South East Rail Network. The South East Rail Network extends from Wolseley to Mt Gambier, Mt Gambier to Naracoorte and Mt Gambier to the Victorian border. A briefing session will be held at the office of Transport SA, 33 Warwick Street, Walkerville, SA on 8 May 2001. Attendance at this briefing is a pre-requisite to submitting a proposal.
