Description

From the 1st October 2010 the Government will centralise personnel security vetting services for all Commonwealth agencies within the Department of Defence. These clearances will be processed and managed by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA), formerly the Defence Security Authority's Vetting Branch (DSA VB).

The DSA VB/AGSVA will employ a number of full time assessing officers to fulfil its security clearance role.

The DSA VB/AGSVA will require the services of suitably qualified contractors to process security clearances when security clearance requirements exceed the allocated resources of the DSA VB/AGSVA, to meet the Commonwealth's security vetting requirements.

The DSA VB/AGSVA intends establishing one Industry Vetting Panel to augment both positive vetting and negative vetting security requirements for all Government Agencies.
