Communities and Coastal Hazards – Supporting Communities to Understand and Respond to Coastal Hazards

The Project will work with three coastal communities and their councils (Triabunna and Orford, the Glamorgan Spring Bay Council; and Adventure Bay, the Kingborough Council) to raise awareness of their vulnerability to current and emerging coastal hazards such as erosion, inundation and associated severe storms; and identify their preferences for how to manage these hazards. The Project will also assess critical infrastructure (including access) and services that would be impacted by current and future extreme coastal hazard events. Working with the Municipal Emergency Management Committee, it will recommend emergency management responses and plans for recovery from these impacts.
