BHROIP Mackay - Shoulder Widening Package

RoadTek has tendered to undertake Stage 2 of the Bruce Highway Road Operations Improvements Project
(BHROIP). This project involves the installation of Intelligent Transport System (ITS) components including
Signage, Traffic Monitoring and Information Systems at various locations on the Bruce Highway within the
Mackay/Whitsunday district.
Capable subcontractors are sought to undertake road shoulder widening works (including sprayed sealing to
shoulders) to enable the installation of guardrail and ITS structures at several locations on the Bruce Highway
between Waverly Creek and Guthalungra.

The Shoulder Widening works has been broken into three (3) works packages along the Bruce Highway.
RoadTek retains the right to award packages separately to one or more suppliers, based on project
requirements.
Package 1: (Waverly Creek to Flaggy Rock) – 3 Sites
Package 2: (Calen to Proserpine) – 5 Sites
Package 3: (Guthalungra) – 2 Sites

The scope of subcontract works includes:
􀁸 Site establishment and disestablishment
􀁸 Traffic control and temporary roadwork signage
􀁸 Clearing & grubbing (stripping and retaining topsoil onsite for later respreading)
􀁸 Minor excavations (assume cut to fill)
􀁸 Embankments (assume imported fill)
􀁸 Unbound pavement – type 2.5 (200mm layer)
􀁸 Sprayed bitumen sealing (double/double AMC7 14/7mm)
􀁸 Respreading topsoil on exposed batter

It is anticipated that Shoulder Widening works will commence in on 1 March 2020 with completion required by
end of April 2020. Tenderers are required to submit a Construction Program with their offer, and it is expected
that this program will be used as the basis for delivery of works, as per applicable contract conditions, unless
approval is granted by the Main Contractor's Representative.
