JCU - Fire Maintenance Services - Townsville Campus

James Cook University (JCU) undertakes its operations using a diverse asset portfolio. This includes using a mix of owned and leased assets. This portfolio is located across North Queensland including the Bebugu Yumba (Townsville Campus). The assets within this portfolio contain a range of prescribed fire safety installations (PFSI) i.e. services and equipment. JCU is committed to maintaining its PFSIs in line with legal requirements and meeting industry best practice.

JCU maintains a register of its PFSI and a specification on how the services and equipment are to be maintained. The specification is detailed in terms of detailing the inspections and tasks as required by statutes, codes of practice, standards and provisions in alternative solutions. The detailed PFSI register and specification will be detailed and released as part of the tender package

The Bebegu Yumba Campus (Townsville) incorporates a broad range of PFSI within its:

• Buildings - 186 built assets – gross floor area 205,000m² (from large 10,000m² + assets to small storage sheds)
• Site - 170 external fire hydrants

JCU is seeking a Schedule of Rates offer from a suitably qualified and licensed fire protection system maintenance supplier to undertake the scope of works outlined in the attached Request for Tender (RFT) document.

***A Site Visit will be conducted on 30 April 21 at Bldg 45 Medical Lecture Theatre 12pm - 2pm with the option of a site visit after the session***
