Provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Consumables

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) is Western Australia’s (WA) leading hazard management agency. DFES performs a critical role coordinating emergency services for a range of natural disasters and emergency incidents threatening life and property.

Supported by an extensive network of over 29,000 volunteers and 1,100 career firefighters, DFES works together with the community and government to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from a diverse range of emergencies.

Operating 24 hours a day, every day of the year, DFES provides emergency services across our vast state of 2.5 million square kilometres on land, by sea and air. DFES comprises of:

• Career Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS);
• Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service (VFRS);
• State Emergency Service (SES);
• Volunteer Marine Rescue Services (VMRS); and
• Volunteer Fire and Emergency Services (VFES).

DFES requires the supply and delivery of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and consumables to all CFRS, VFRS, SES, VMRS, VFES, Metropolitan and Regional Offices including Aviation services buildings, appliances, boats and vehicles throughout WA.

The type of items required are personal protective equipment (PPE) such as full or half face mask respirators, filters, goggles, earmuffs, etc. and consumables.

The contract will allow for the addition of like products over the term of the arrangement.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services reserves the right to appoint a panel of suppliers or a single supplier for all products or a supplier per category of products. Therefore, Respondents may offer for one or more categories of product. Respondents may offer a range of products which meet the minimum specifications for that category.
