Northern Advanced Manufacturing Industry Group (NAMIG) Project - Program Developer

The NAMIG project has arisen from Stage 1 of the Northern Industry, Education & Employment Partnership (NIEEP) which was funded under the Australian Government’s Sustainable Regions Programme Initiative.

NAMIG has been formed to facilitate, in an operational and functionally sustainable manner, a culture of industry engagement with education and training providers in order to:

• Increase the pool of skilled workers able to meet the needs of the Northern Region Advanced Manufacturing Sector; and
• Increase the employment opportunities available to people in the Playford/Salisbury Council areas, particularly within the Advanced Manufacturing sector.

The primary purposes of the NAMIG project are:

• Develop programs and projects that will assist Northern Area secondary schools, including both public and independent, to create relationships with Advanced Manufacturing enterprises.

• Enhance and utilise the links between Industry, Education and the local community for increased learning.
• Provide a strategic voice for Advanced Manufacturing in on matters pertaining to skill requirements in the Advanced Manufacturing industry.

In conjunction with a range of regional partners, the City of is seeking proposals (expressions of interest?) from suitably qualified parties or applications from individuals to provide the necessary capability to deliver the programme.Project commencement is however is contingent on a successful funding outcome.
