Description

The Department of Transport is responsible for maintenance dredging, as and when required, at over 30 WA sites which include:

  • 25 maritime facilities controlled or managed by the Department, of which 11 have required maintenance dredging at varying frequencies over the past 10 years;
  • Ocean Reef Boat Harbour under a management deed with the City of Joondalup;
  • A number of regional waterways within the Swan River, Canning River, Peel Harvey Estuary and Hardy Inlet; and
  • Sand bypassing across the Mandurah Ocean Entrance, Dawesville Ocean Entrance and Port Geographe canals entrance.

It is the intention of the Department, through this Request for Tender (RFT) process, to award a sole contract for the provision of dredging and related delivery works for an initial period of six (6) years. There are two (2) x two (2) year extension options exercisable by the Department based on the contractor providing satisfactory performance and value for money.

The total value of the dredging and related delivery works, as and when required, over the ten (10) year period is estimated at $66,000,000 (including GST).

This RFT is a follow on from the Invitation To Register Interest No DOT416520ITRI.
