Xray Equipment and Associated Services

The Department wishes to procure, either through lease or outright purchase, Xray equipment and associated services to provide a comprehensive solution for screening mail, freight packages and other items for potential security threats detectable by such equipment. The successful tenderer will be required to supply, deliver, install and test the requirements in the Department’s new premises at 3-5 National Circuit Barton before 1 April 2009.
Solutions tendered by tenderers should:
a. meet the United States Federal standard 21-CFR1020.40, Cabinet X-Rays which are available on line at http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfcfr/CFRSearch.cfm?FR+1020.40
b. allow selected images to be marked, stored and later retrieved for transfer
c. be equipped with TIP software that can be logged to the individual operator
d. be capable of being networked (Ethernet) to a central supervisory station for assistance and training functions
e. include a control keyboard
f. include 20 minute uninterrupted power supply
g. have three sets of keys for the screening machine
h. comprise security screening equipment which fits, with roller beds within the current screening space without structural alterations, within an allocated space of 6.7m x 5.9m
i. pass acceptance tests using the test bag as specified in Standard ASTM tests F792 procedure (in accordance with the STM 1 through to 9 (tenderers should note that this standard is issued under the fixed designation F792 copies of which can be purchased at http://www.astm.org)
j. include a minimum examination tunnel size of 600mm (wide) x 400m (high)
k. operate normally in an environment of 240VAC, 50Hz, temperature range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius and up to 95% humidity (non-condensing)
l. include a machine conveyor with forward and reverse motion control
m. include a conveyor system with a minimum carrying capacity of 130kg
n. comprise a height of the conveyor between 600mm and 800mm from the floor level and
o. includes one computer monitor that is 21 inch colour and able to match the refresh rate of the screening machine.
