Description

The Tasmanian Government has announced that it will introduce by year-end a Mandatory Alcohol Interlock Program (MAIP) targeting recidivist drink drivers. The MAIP will require participants to install an alcohol interlock in any vehicle they drive for a minimum of 15 months. The program will be administered by the Registrar of Motor Vehicles.

The Registrar wishes to appoint a panel of Contractors who can supply alcohol interlock devices suitable for best practice Government alcohol interlock programs and also meet national and international technical standards including the European Standard EN 50436-1: 2005.

Tenderers will have to nominate the period of time they will require to establish their Service Centre Network in Tasmania. The MAIP will commence when a Contractor has demonstrated to the Registrar that their Service Centre Network is established.
