During a rare flood event on Maria Island in December the dam on Bernacchis Creek was overtopped and a number of bridges damaged or washed away. Repairs to Bernacchis Bridge and replacement of a number of bridges with culverts or fords. These are cheaper alternatives while still providing an appropriate standard of service for each of the locations.
