Description
The North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS) requires the ongoing provision of an admitted Palliative Care Service for public patients to meet current and future requirements identified through demand modelling, noting that additional palliative care beds have recently been provided at Joondalup Health Campus in the northern part of the NMHS catchment. Additionally, the specialist palliative care unit is to assist in medical trainee placement and provide clinical advice to medical practitioners, undergraduate medical students and health professional staff and allows for medical teaching support for a rotating medical registrar as determined cooperatively between the Respondent and the teaching hospitals.
