Contractors to visit the site before tendering/submitting an Offer to satisfy themselves as to the true nature of the work to be carried out; failure to attend site will not be sufficient reason to claim extras or variations due to a mistake in the Offer scope; the Maintenance Coordinator [Rodney Wilson] will provide site access and advice/explanation on the project scope.

Minimum specifications for road works:
Depth of sub base and base layers is 150mm and asphalt layer minimum 30mm thick.
NOTE: Innovative solutions for the roadworks restorations and stabilisation are encouraged and will be considered as part of this Offer process. Tenderers are to provide a detailed advice with their Offer on what remedial works solutions they are offering.

Site Information
Generally, in the Hospital area, the current bitumen coverage has failed and become brittle and distorted due to weather, environment, and age plus tyre friction following manoeuvring by cars to gain access. Traffic is generally of light vehicle nature; drainage has contributed to the current surface deterioration.

Generally, in the Westhaven Aged care area, the gradient and turn radius have higher levels of failure; this has been aided by weather, environment, and age. De-stabilisation of road base or insufficient compaction may also have been contributing factors in bitumen layers failure. Traffic is generally of light vehicle nature; drainage may also have contributed to the current surface deterioration.

The Westhaven driveway is approximately 90.0 metres in length and 6.0 metres in width. The 90 metres ends approximately where the barrier curves and the driveway widens. There are a couple of other spots where temporary gap sealing has been undertaken to retard further failure; one around 2.0 metres square and one 1 metre x 3 metres… see Photos @ "Westhaven damage 3 P11 and 4 P12”.
