Preparation of a business case for a Natural Capital Investment Plan - P24-6848

LLS is seeking to develop a strategic business case related to natural capital investment and related services in NSW. Private landholders own or manage 70% of NSW’s land and natural capital assets and therefore play a critical role in protecting, restoring and enhancing natural capital and will lead practice change that embeds natural capital outcomes in business planning. Establishing the necessary incentives and investment to improve the condition and extent of natural capital assets across NSW is an emerging opportunity for and interest of the NSW Government. Natural capital is a means of monetising a wider range of land management activities that have positive environmental value. It utilises measurement, accounting, valuation, and investment approaches to recognise the value that a healthy environment has to society and the economy.
