Description

We need to reimagine the aged care system to meet the needs of our ageing population. Good design can support older people to live with dignity, respect and enjoyment and improve working environments for aged care workers.

We are seeking flexible and innovative design solutions that provide living environments where residents have privacy and control, a sense of belonging, and connection to family, friends and the community.

This design ideas competition is a unique opportunity for architects and designers to test the draft National Aged Care Design Principles and Guidelines and come up with innovative ideas when designing aged care homes that are welcoming, safe, accessible, dementia-friendly and consider small-home models.

For more information about the competition and how to enter, visit: https://www.health.gov.au/reimagining-where-we-live

Entries close at 12pm (noon) AEDT on 15 December 2023.
