National Program Support Service Program – SWBTA "The Springs" Acquisition Preparatory Works

This project will undertake necessary preparatory works to make ready for use the recently acquired ‘The Springs’ property, as an extension to Shoal Water Bay Training Area (SWBTA) Queensland.

At the time of issuing this Request for Tender, the works include the following:
a) New 40m fire break corridor including vehicular carriageway and signage along revised SWBTA boundary following inclusion of the ‘The Springs’ property into the overall SWBTA (approximate length 19.7km);
b) New boundary fencing and security signage;
c) New SWBTA vehicle entrance location at ‘The Springs’ boundary on Raspberry Creek Road with hardstand and relocation of associated signage and sentry hut.
d) Decommission redundant bores within ‘The Springs’ property, including demolition of structures and provision of fencing around capped bores.
e) Repair and/or replacement of boundary cattle fencing;
f) Removal of redundant fencing internal to ‘The Springs’ property;
g) Demolish agreed redundant structures existing on ‘The Springs’ property;
h) Decommission and remove redundant section of SWER line to ‘The Springs’ homestead; and
i) Break outs and levelling of contour banks

At the time of issuing this Request for Tender, the Commonwealth of Australia (Commonwealth) intends to procure the works using the design and construct delivery method, under the Defence Medium Works Contract (MW-2 2004).
