WA Department of Fire and Emergency Services
Enterprise Architecture Tool
Details
Description
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) serves all Western Australia (WA) by working together to achieve a safer State. DFES’s purpose is to support the WA community to prepare for disasters and protect them against the unpredictability of natural hazards and emergency incidents. DFES operate 24 hours per day, seven days per week, on land, in the air and by sea across the vast 2.5 million square kilometres of the state.
The ICT Strategic, Planning and Architecture (SPA) Team have identified a need of an Enterprise Architecture Tool to support the management of Enterprise Architecture (EA) services to be used by the Enterprise and Solution Architects.
EA services encompass the strategic planning, design, and implementation of an organisation’s IT infrastructure, applications, processes, and technologies to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
The current EA Repository is not fit for purpose and does not adequately meet the requirements to support effective EA services. A suitable EA tool is needed to enable delivery of EA Services to DFES in an effective, timely manner. EA Services are valuable when managing a large, complex application and technology portfolio but this needs to be supported by a solution capable of modelling that complexity and analysing it.
