Description
This Request invites responses for the establishment of a Disaster Recovery (DR) facility at the Department of Mines and Petroleum's (DMP)site in Carlisle.
The overarching design and specification of this DR facility shall have the following principles in mind:
a) a focus on long term energy efficient “green” solutions with a view to reducing long term costs and aiming to achieve Power Utilisation Effectiveness (PUE), NABERS and GreenStar energy ratings in line with industry targets and best practice;
b) flexible and modular infrastructure that can be scaled up and out rapidly to meet business needs; and
c) innovative design approaches which make the most of new technology and best practices to implement in a short time frame whilst maximising long term benefits and flexibility.
Notes:
• The DMP is open to exploring non traditional innovative solutions.
• Respondents may submit proposals for any solution or combination of solutions – note that more than one solution may be proposed.
• ICT equipment such as servers, networking equipment, storage area network devices, etc are not covered in the scope of this request and will be provided by the DMP.
