Sport 4 All Learning and Development Package

The Department of Sport and Recreation’s mission is to enhance the quality of life of Western Australians through their participation and achievement in sport and active recreation. A key outcome is for a more physically active society in which sport and active recreation maintain and contribute to community wellbeing. One of the department’s key strategies is to facilitate initiatives to increase community participation, with a particular focus on groups with low participation levels.

In July 2011, the department rolled out a four year Sport 4 All package of programs which will allow more young Western Australians the opportunity to become part of the community to play, learn, and connect with positive peers.

There are four components within the Sport 4 All package that deliver on government’s social investment mandate. The interventions within the package are modelled on a combination of compelling evidence and proven best practice nationally and/or internationally. Sport 4 All will deliver:

1. KidSport - connecting young people with clubs and positive experiences through 30,000 subsidised sport and recreation club memberships;
2. The Community Volunteer Project – creating and sustaining a new generation of community volunteers;
3. Nature Play WA - reconnecting WA children with play and nature; and
4. ClubTalk – helping up to 5,000 clubs stay relevant, business smart and connected.

Through this Request, the department is seeking the services of a suitably qualified Respondent to undertake the Sport 4 All Learning and Development Package which is a part of the Community Volunteer Project. For more information regarding each project please refer to Attachments 1-4.
