WaterSecure has commenced a Records Management Project with the purpose of establishing a robust framework of policies, procedures, rules, tools and processes to support the implementation of an electronic information management solution. Implementing a records management program underpinned by an electronic information management solution supports WaterSecure’s compliance obligations under the Public Records Act 2002 and other legislation; the principles of good governance under AS 8000 Corporate Governance and document control under ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. The key objectives for this project are to:
a) Establish a single, secured store and source of truth for all documents and records
b) Improve operational efficiency and flexibility for document-centric business processes
c) Improve the evidential integrity and reliability of records
d) Accommodate future information management needs such as data warehousing and ability to integrate with evolving business solution requirements
e) Meet legal and regulatory obligations relating to documents, records and information security
f) Reduce organisational risks relating to document and records management
