Description

Registrations of interest are invited from Department for Administrative and Information Services (DAIS) Prequalified General Building Contractors in Category 1. As part of the SAPOL Relocations to vacate 1 Angas Street to make way for the proposed Commonwealth Courts Precinct, the following projects will be tendered as separate lump sum contracts.  Crime Support and Forensic Services (CSS) The proposed facility is the refurbishment of base building services and fitout of the former Motor Registration Building (MRB) and levels 5, 6 & 7 of the Forensic Science Building (FSB) totalling approximately 10,000m2 in area with a connecting air-bridge between the buildings. Associated works will include (but not necessarily be limited to) security fencing, gates, road pavement, an area of sealed carpark, landscaping, and stormwater drainage. Some minor asbestos removal in both buildings may also be required. Construction is expected to commence in November 2000 with completion by mid 2001.  Adelaide Local Service Area (ALSA) City Watch House Administration The proposed facility is to be housed in a new single level building of approximately 430m² of reinforced concrete and masonry construction. It will be sited south of the existing Watch House with a connecting link. Some modifications and refitting will also be required to the existing Watch House. Contractors are to note that the Watch House will continue to be in use during the construction period and parts of the works will be required to be undertaken in a secure operational environment. Associated works will include (but not necessarily be limited to) security fencing, gates, minor road works in Kent Street, an area of sealed carpark, landscaping, subsoil and stormwater drainage. Construction is expected to commence in January 2001 with completion by mid 2001. The contractors will be required to liaise and coordinate with contractors/construction manager engaged on other project components associated with the SAPOL relocations. Registrants are to note that the program is tight for both projects and delivery on time is critical to the success of the SAPOL Relocations for handover of the site for the proposed Commonwealth Courts. Past performance by registrants in the timely delivery of projects of similar complexity, value and type shall be a major consideration in the assessment and short-listing of tenderers for both projects. Registrants shall supply the following information:  details of projects of similar complexity, value and type undertaken in the last 3 years with specific reference to performance to program, together with referees;  information on key personnel proposed for the project and their current work commitment;  details of current work commitment including scope of work, contract value and anticipated completion; and  any other information considered relevant to the project. Separate registrations are required for each project with the submissions clearly marked accordingly. A shortlist of tenderers will be drawn from DAIS Prequalified General Building Contractors in Category 1 that respond to this invitation to register their interest. Further information and enquiries should be directed to the respective primary consultants:  for the CSS – Motor Registration and Forensic Science Buildings project, Mr Brian Virgo of Hardy Milazzo/Greenway International (architects in association) on telephone [phone hidden].  for the ALSA - City Watch House Administration project, Mr Guy Maron of Woodhead International/Raffen Maron (architects in association) on telephone [phone hidden].
