WA Department of Water
Provision of Drilling Services for the Exploration and Construction of Groundwater Monitoring Bores, Derby Surroundings
Details
Description
~~The Principal requires a suitably qualified and experienced provider to undertake the drilling of up to fourteen (14) proposed monitoring bores in the surroundings of Derby, in the West Kimberley. As part of the program, it may be necessary to undertake pumping tests at some of the newly constructed bores.
The successful Respondent will be required to construct the bores to approximate depths ranging from 50 metres to 300 metres. A combination of Aircore / Reverse circulation (RC) blade or hammer methods (for the testing of water quality, quantity, and strata depth), with mud rotary, are the Principal’s preferred techniques.
The Principal will consider a proposal for alternative means of installing monitoring bores, if sufficient evidence is provided to demonstrate the alternative is safe, reliable and cost-effective, and represents best value for money. However, the Principal makes no guarantees in relation to the appropriateness of any drilling method that is used.
