Routine and Special Core Analysis Services

The Department of Mines and Petroleum has an ongoing requirement for routine and special core analysis and reporting.
There is no guaranteed quantity of work.

The Contractor shall be required to conduct any or all of the following:
- Preservation of samples for long or short term purposes if required, and storage of preserved samples until analysis is required
- Photography of samples before and after analysis
- Drilling core plugs with brine (V & H plugs)
- Scout and 90 degrees to scout (transverse scans)
- Axial Scan
- CT image processing.
Routine Core Analysis (RCA) including but not limited to:
- Routine Core Analysis and Tight Rock Analysis (including but not limited to vertical, horizontal and Klinkenberg permeability (ambient and net-confining or insitu stress), porosity, grain density, bulk density, profile permeability, pore fluid saturation.)
- Compressibility analysis
- Petrographic analysis
- XRD analysis
- SEM
- Argon Milled SEM
- Cathodoluminescence
- Fluid composition analysis
Special Core Analysis (SCAL) to determine reservoir and caprock suitability for CO2 sequestration including but not limited to:
- Capillary pressure
- Capillary pressure: mercury injection capillary pressure
- Geomechanical testing
- Relative permeability (Steady state (SS) drainage and imbibition curves)
- CT scanning (pre- and post-test plug photographs are to be taken)

The SCAL may include:
