Asset Renewal (AR) - Storage Phase 3 - File Storage

Background

The PTA embarked on a Storage Program. The purpose of the Storage Program is to replace in a phased approach, over a two year period, the Business Systems Storage and the Operational Systems Storage. This project will replace the end of life DDN storage as per the IT Infrastructure Asset Management Plan. This will be replaced with new Pure Storage Flash Arrays in line with the IT Storage Strategy; thus, renewing lifespan and supportability. The storage platform constitutes an integral part in augmenting security services for CCTV storage - operational systems storage.

The objective of the project is to:

•  Provide the required new infrastructure at minimum cost whilst still achieving required outcomes;
•  Extend asset life for new hardware;
•  Reduce costs (support/ out of warranty maintenance);
•  Facilitate simplified and predictable capacity increase; and
•  Improve availability and reliability by delivering.

This will be achieved through:

•  Implementation of new hardware as part of the asset lifecycle renewal;
•  Supported platform; and
•  Additional security functionality.
