Central Tablelands Cultural Fire Practitioner Mentoring Program Stage 2 - P24-6875

The Central Tablelands Local Land Services (CTLLS) is currently facilitating and supporting the regions Aboriginal community to deliver activities focused on the revival of cultural practices including Indigenous fire into the landscape to protect and enhance cultural assets, values and practices, threatened native species and plant communities. Investment into Aboriginal communities to empower them to lead the revival and repatriation of ecological and Indigenous fire knowledge and practice is a significant activity for CTLLS as it not only demonstrates authentic reconciliation action and respect for culture, but will contribute highly significant outcomes and benefits to cultural heritage, the regional landscape and its communities and the LLS. The Central Tablelands Local Land Service (CTLLS) is seeking to engage Firesticks Alliance to deliver Firesticks Indigenous Fire Practitioner Certification program - Central Tablelands (Year 2) for 10 participants for the FY2023-24 and FY 2024-25. On Wiradjuri country in the Central Tablelands region the 10 associate Indigenous Fire Practitioners will participate in and co-lead Traditional burns. Cultural burn workshops will be facilitated by Firesticks Alliance at four (4) sites for Year 2 of the three-year certification framework in the Central Tablelands region.
