SA Department for Child Protection
P66 Redress Facilitator Services Panel
Details
Description
The Department for Child Protection (DCP) seeks to establish a panel of contractors for Direct Personal Response (DPR) Facilitation Services to provide facilitation services as required by DCP or other participating institutions, over the remaining life of the National Redress Scheme (NRS) currently, to 30 June 2028. DCP is responsible for coordinating the provision of DPRs on behalf of all South Australian state government institutions.
Information regarding the National Redress Scheme can be accessed at https://www.nationalredress.gov.au/
The DPR process is a formal engagement involving a person who experienced abuse within an institution that owed them a duty of care, and a representative of that institution. During a DPR, the survivors account is not questioned and the representative of the institution is obliged to demonstrate that the survivor’s testimony has been heeded, and that an effective apology is delivered.
Provision of facilitator services must be in accordance with:
- National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse Act 2018; https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/C2018A00045
- National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse Rules 2018;
- National Redress Scheme for institutional Child Sexual Abuse Direct Personal Response Framework 2018;
- National Redress Scheme for institutional Child Sexual Abuse Declaration 2018; and
- The DPR Guidance Handbook published by the NRS
