Description

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) is vested with the management of public land and natural resources in Western Australia. Responsibilities include protection of approximately 25 million hectares of Crown land from damage by bush fire.

DBCA is required to act on behalf of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) and Local Government to provide aerial water bombing capacity in the South-West of Western Australia (WA), including the Perth metropolitan area, by means of fixed wing aircraft.

The provision of an aerial fire suppression capability is required to assist in the suppression of bush fires and provide asset protection for the various communities throughout the South West and adjoining regions of WA. The often remote and difficult nature of bush firefighting in WA means that fixed wing aircraft play an invaluable role in these activities.

DBCA is seeking a suitably qualified Contractor for the provision of aircraft, pilots and ground crew support to conduct aerial fire suppression (water bombing) operations for the South West and adjoining regions of WA.
