Software Asset Management (SAM) Managed Services

The Department of Science, Information Technology, Information and the Arts is seeking to establish a whole of Government Standing Offer Arrangement for the provision of Software Asset Management – Managed Services.

Respondents are required to respond within 4 working days confirming their intent to respond (this is a mandatory requirement) and full submissions will be within a 3 week window.

The Arrangement will be used by Queensland Government budget sector agencies and other Eligible Customers.

The summary of overall services being sought under this Software Asset Management – Managed Services Arrangement includes but is not limited to:

• Software licence management as a service, including identification, allocation, harvesting, reallocation, compliance verification and auditing of a range of different products and licences across all Government agencies;
• Assistance with planning and costing operations for the negotiation of more suitable contracts (including terms and conditions) across all agencies for software and related assets and services;
• Specialist advice to Queensland Government on Industry trends and opportunities to gain additional value from incumbent or proposed suppliers;
• Specialist advice to Queensland Government on the software used on all platforms and opportunities to gain additional value from software consolidation on the existing or different platform;
• On demand assistance with SAM related tasks, such as audit defence with ready access to licensing specialists with experience in negotiating with the specific vendor initiating the audit;
• Provision and management of a cloud hosted enterprise software asset management toolset, capable of capturing and storing deployment, entitlement and usage data across all agencies with varying infrastructure and systems.
